Thanks Frank
Amazon put this out on all books that are registered with Waterstones etc, they don't consult publishers or anything, just decide on a discount and put it up, followed by this sort of message when the publisher decides not to play ball.
As the book seems to be selling nicely in the retail outlets in Devon and around the Country via The Plymouth Branch of Waterstones (01752 669898) and direct from me, I don't think it will ever be available on Amazon, certainly unlikely before Christmas.
Hope that clarifies.

Oh great, well the publisher must have desided to put some of the copies I gave to him (as payment) up for sale. Glad it's all working out however confusing it is to me.

clarrification: The publisher sold the books I gave him (payment in kind) to Amazon a number of weeks ago. They jumped at them. However as they demand such a high percentage I won't be supplying them with any more until I am sure all the other retailers which are selling them have done all they can: consequently when Amazon have sold their 70 books there will be no more available from them.
Hope that clarifies the mysetery.

Just keeping you posted.  Grin

Hi people,
I thought I'd share an email I received today. To give it some context I liased with the gallery over several months until they agreed to accept the last 60 books of my 1000 print run. Then this arrives. I can't help thinking the actions of the Foundation seem strange. Why are they so determined to keep books such as mine and keith Nichols away from people interested in Robert, is it only White Lane Publications that are allowed? Further if they had wanted some contribution from me for each book sold I would have been happy to donate but I was not approached, it seems to me that they have simply acted unkindly, to say the least. I can't do anything about this now but thought I'd share my frustrations and disappointment at what happened.
What say you?

i]Hi Jojo,
> I have some bad news I'm afraid; The Lenkiewicz Foundation have spoken to myself and the RWA Director, Trystan Hawkins, and asked that we don't sell the 'Remembering Robert' book during the exhibition. Although no specific reason has been given for this request, Trystan has been forced to agree and unfrotunately we can't have the book on display for the duration of the exhibition.
>
> Personally, I wanted the book out and on sale so I fought to try and keep it but the Director's word is final and I've had to remove it. We sold one book before the exhibition and I'm confident it would have done well at the RWA.
>
> Please accept my apologies and let me know about collection/transport for the remaining books.

I would prefer to wait for an explanation before rushing to judgement.

As for censorship, it's nothing of the kind. It seems to me to be a decision about, for want of a better word, merchandising.

It does seem to invoke a feeling of profiteering though, especially as White Lane Press is run by a key member of the foundation. Shades of Fisher Mackenzie all over again.

The establishment should have the right to choose and should not be dictated too, this is Lenkiewicz after all and quality control has never been an issue before.

I do feel for both Keith Nicolls and JoJo but it's hardly a surprising development.
